Keeping Your New Puppy Healthy
We love meeting new puppies and are able to give you the best advice about diet and nutrition, toilet training, socialisation, vaccinations and prevention of common canine parasites.
Your New Puppy
We are thrilled that you have added a new puppy to your family, and look forward to supporting you on the crazy, busy, fun, chaotic journey that you are about to begin.
We love welcoming new puppies to the Magill Village Vet family – new babies bring joy to our hearts and smiles to our faces and we feel so blessed to partner with you in caring for your new baby.
Puppy Preschool (Coming Soon)
Training and socialisation are two of the most important things that you can do for a new puppy when it joins your family. Sound training and good social skills are as important as vaccinations and parasite prevention for the health and wellbeing of your new puppy.
The society we live in is very much aware of good and bad manners, and what is considered acceptable behaviour from our canine companions. Puppy behaviour is imprinted from birth and they are most receptive to training between the ages of 6-16 weeks.
Puppy schools have been proven to have a significant impact on the long-term socialisation skills and manners of the puppies that participate.
Call Magill Village Vet to find out when our next classes start.
Puppy Health Checks
Welcoming a new puppy into your family is a very happy and exciting time, but it is also a very busy and potentially stressful time.
Knowing what your puppy needs, and when, is challenging for all of our new families, so we have a team of nurses who would love to meet your new puppy, have puppy cuddles and guide you through ‘onboarding’ your new puppy.
In addition to cuddles, your new puppy will also receive a comprehensive health check to make sure there are 5 fingers and 5 toes—or something like that!
