For Cats
Veterinary Care For Your Cat
At Magill Village Vet, we know you want your cat to be happy and healthy. To do this, you need a trusted vet who understands your cat and can provide the caring treatment they need.
Visiting The Local Vet Shouldn’t Be A Stressful Experience For Your Cat.
With separate waiting areas and treatment rooms for cats, we’re a fear-free clinic so all our furry friends are as comfortable as possible when they visit us.
By minimising your pet’s stress we provide a more relaxed experience at the village vet, which results in better health outcomes.
Weight Management
Carrying a few extra kilos puts our cats at risk of heart disease, respiratory disorders, osteoarthritis and diabetes. The scary thing is that most people aren’t even aware that their cat is overweight.
When you look at your cat can you still see a waist and a nice hourglass figure? You know you are in trouble if your cat starts to look like a wombat. A neck roll, a pendulous tummy and love handles over the hips are not good signs.
The very best way to determine whether your pet is overweight is to book a weight check with one of our veterinary nursing team.
Dental Health Checks
In the wild, cats would usually clean their teeth by chewing on bones or grass, but domestic cats often don’t have a suitable replacement for this. Additionally, cats cant verbally communicate to tell us they’re in pain or feeling sick.
It’s important to regularly check the state of your cat’s teeth and gums to make sure they’re always looking healthy.
Teeth and gum problems occur in eight out of ten cats over the age of three. This is because cats tend to accumulate bacteria, debris and plaque from the food they eat on the outside of their teeth.
A healthy cat’s teeth should be clean, white, and free of any chipping. Their gums shouldn’t have any sores or lesions, and should be pink and healthy without any redness, swelling or bleeding.
We offer Dental Health Checks with our veterinary nursing team to help you monitor and manage your cats dental health.
