Cat Friendly Clinic

Cat Friendly Clinic is a worldwide programme from the International Society of Feline Medicine, the veterinary division of the charity International Cat Care.

Established in 2012, the programme recognises that because of their unique nature and needs, taking cats to the veterinary clinic can be very stressful, both for cats and their owners. This programme is designed to help address these issues by creating more cat friendly veterinary clinics and so reducing the stress for cats and making veterinary visits easier for caregivers as well.

Here at Magill Village Vet we will be aiming for GOLD status.

By creating a feline friendly environment we believe that we can:

  • Reduce the fear and anxiety that our feline patients suffer when visiting.
  • Provide better lifelong healthcare for our feline patients.
  • Provide a more relaxing experience for family members and reduce anxiety levels.
  • Reduce the injuries that our feline patients inflict on their family members and healthcare team when they are distressed.

Accredited Veterinary Hospital Scheme

The Australian Small Animal Veterinarians Group Accredited Veterinary Hospital Scheme recognises companion animal practices that achieve the highest levels of quality healthcare and practice management in innovative, state-of-the-art hospital facilities.

Our new Magill Village Vet facility has been designed and built to the standard required to meet ASAV Hospital Accreditation, and we will be applying for accreditation as soon as our new clinic is open.

Australian Small Animal Veterinarians Group accredited hospitals set a benchmark to inspire other small animal practitioners when assessing their own facilities and standards.

Cats & Dogs Love Us!

We have designated spaces for cats and dogs—affectionately dubbed Cat World and Dog World by our team—and understand how to create a low stress environment.
